One Year Ago Today

Congressman Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ) was shot in the head during a “Congress on Your Corner” event outside a Safeway in Tucson, AZ. The shots were fired by Jared Loughner, a 22-year-old loner who made a series of seriously disturbing youtube videos prior to the shooting. Loughner’s bullets killed six people (including a young girl born on 9.11.2001), injured thirteen (including Giffords), and scarred countless others for life.
In happier news: Congresswoman Giffords is alive and making an incredible recovery (and living in my neighborhood).
Today, I will say a prayer for those lost in the Tucson shooting– and all those wounded by it, whether those wounds by physical or emotional.
